- Perform a Wellhead Audit: Ensure your well casing is properly sealed and that the ground around it is graded so that surface water flows away from the opening. A wellhead that sits in a low spot or lacks a tight cap is the number one entry point for agricultural runoff.
- Establish a Baseline Test: Do not wait for a smell or a cloudy tap to test your water. We recommend an annual test for nitrates and basic biological contaminants to establish a normal baseline. This allows us to catch minor shifts in water quality long before they become health concerns.
- Engineered Filtration: If your property is surrounded by high-intensity agricultural zones, you may benefit from targeted water polishing. A whole-home system—combining a carbon backwashing filter and ultraviolet (UV) sterilization—acts as a secondary safety barrier that eliminates both dissolved chemical compounds and biological threats.
